Reproduction

Reproductive active females have a reduced lifespan [Malick and Kidwell, 1996]. For instance in Drosophila, high rates of egg production result in a decreased lifespan [Partridge et al. 1987]. However, implanting young ovary in post-reproductive female mice extends lifespan.
