Cancer - Editing

Aging is the major risk factor for cancer. The majority of tumours are diagnosed in aged patients [11602373; 11357148; 12173348]. Exposing mice to carcinogens results in the induction of cancer after a certain period of time but effect are seem to be independent of the age of the animals (up to 1 year of age) [1212409]. The exposure to carcinogens in old mice increases cancer development when compared to younger controls in some tissues but not in others [12633840; 18372004]. Mice die primarily because of cancer [18372004].
