Protein F21H12.1; Uncharacterized WD repeat-containing protein F21H12.1 [Source:UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot;Acc:Q09309] [Ensembl]; F21H12.1 encodes a WD40 repeat-containing protein that is the C. elegans homolog of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Swd1 and mammalian RbBP5 (Retinoblastoma binding protein 5), members of Set1/MLL methyltransferase complexes; in C. elegans, F21H12.1 activity is required for histone H3 lysine 4 methylation, specifically H3K4me3 and H3K4me2, during early embryonic development and in adult germline stem cells; accordingly, F21H12.1 is required for embryonic development, germline stem cell maintenance and development, and reproduction; F21H12.1 is also required for normal body morphology and egg-laying behavior.
