Gene expression profiles need to be categorized and integrated into a common repository, hence Denigma's Expressions.

A meta-analysis signature is composed of genes that are differentially expressed across different experiments [19189975; 22327899]. Meta-analysis greatly increases the coverage of genome-wide scans and the overall significance, at the same time it also eliminates experimental errors. Meta-analyzing the pleothora and gene expression profiles can also efficiently determine the absolute expression values [22815738]. The choice of cut-off ratios is arbitrary and has no statistical or theoretical background. Therefore, when possible the raw date of profiles/signatures shall be utilized and only apply profile-specific significance cut-offs as late as possible in order to prevent the loss of information accompanied with thresholds setting. Boolean representation will be used to test the robustness of the results of a meta-analytic study involving diverse datasets.
